HOW DOES THE CHARGER WORK?

We supply a smart EV charging point, usually on the outside of your home, connected to the main fuseboard. These chargers are smart' – they connect to the web and your vehicle and you can manage the charging process using the easy to use app provided

ARE GRANTS AVAILABLE?

The main grant scheme has now expired but you may still qualify. Please check the government website.

IS CHARGING EXPENSIVE?

This depends on your electricity tariff which is measured in Kilowatt Hours (Kwh). The government limit on this price (energy price guarantee) is 27p per KWh.

So for a typical 50 kilowatt car battery that costs 50 x 27p = £13.50. If you have a lower price, for example if you have a fixed tariff, this could be significantly lower

HOW LONG WILL CHARGING TAKE?

Our chargers provide an electricity 'flow' of 7kw per hour. So a 50 kwH battery would take around 7 hours to charge from empty. (50 divided by 7).

IS IT CHEAPER TO CHARGE OVERNIGHT?

A bit like the old economy seven heaters this can work. Octopus energy offer this and you can find out more here. (link)

DO YOU OFFER CHARGERS FOR APARTMENTS AND TERRACED HOUSES?

This can be more challenging but contact one of the lads here (link) and we will try and find a solution for you.

HOW DO I STOP RANDOMS USING MY CHARGER?

The smart charger system will only work if you approve it on your App.

WHAT DO I DO IF I AM AWAY FROM HOME?

You can find commercial chargers at service stations etc and find them using an app such as zap map. Your car is provided with a 13 amp 'granny lead'. They charge at a much slower rate and aren't recommended for regular use but can be used in an emergency – a bit like getting 5 litres of petrol from the garage when you run out!

WHAT BRANDS OF CHARGER DO YOU OFFER?

We install Hydra at £999 and Easee at £1,199 to provide a fixed pricing structure. Should you have a particular preference, we are more than willing to discuss and provide a customized quote to accommodate your needs.

HOW DO I PAY?

When we come out to do the survey we will take £100 deposit and the balance is due on completion of the installation.

WHAT IS A STANDARD INSTALL?

Standard installation is when the charger itself will be installed no more than 15m from the consumer unit (fusebox) and the fusebox has the correct size breakers.

IS A CHARGING LEAD INCLUDED?

Your vehicle charge lead is NOT included, because it varies from manufacturer to manufacturer - this should have been provided with your vehicle.
